welcome!

Welcome to my little studio. I am excited to share what is going on in my art practice, one project or thought at a time. I paint to tell my story. It is a story of gratitude for the people in my life. For the creativity in all of us, manifested in so many ways. For the love, and for the beauty in the work of the first and greatest artist.

finished portrait of Tristan

Today I applied the last coat of wax and dye.

I ironed the art between sheets of newsprint to set the dye and remove the wax.

I added some coloured wax (yes, crayon) to add clarity to a few places,
and cropped the artwork.
Ironed it again, signed it, now it's delivered and Xenia is pleased with it.

This was a true pleasure to paint. I also enjoyed sharing the process.
Thank you for visiting my little studio!

(Xenia: Now to keep it a secret until Christmas! Thank you for letting me post this,
and we are pretty sure your husband won't visit my blog, right?)
